Colleagues: What are you up to? That is the question that I remember hearing this time of year. And my response was, “Oh nothing! Just building a budget, completing evaluations, working on next year’s staffing, PARCC Testing, managing through the politics of my community, and figuring out how we are going to manage the building renovations and improvements we are going to do this summer. So, if I were to guess, I suppose you are feeling a little busy right now.
Let me start by saying how humbled I am to be serving as your NMCEL President for the next two years. There’s a lot to be done and I am excited to work with all of you to continue to support the educators who teach our students. As prioritized by your NMCEL Board this summer, we must continue our collaborative stance as leaders partnering with all who have an interest in our public schools. I believe with the amazing NMCEL board and staff, we are poised to help NMCEL reach its potential as the leader in public education.
